reflective learning
This week in Science Fiction, I learned more about mutant children and mad scientists. I still believe there are different definitions for everybody, when it comes to this subject. There are lots of things that we worked on this week referring to the BQ presentation. I am a little nervous, but I think that we are going to do fine and we did all of it and the best we can.
I also read the ending of my book for my independent reading. The main character, Mori, did have to fight her mother at the ending, but she did win and get the friends that she deserved. She did do a spell to get them at first, but she then realized that she can get them by just being herself. The boarding school was rich and had preppy kids and that made it harder for her to get friends. https://www.sfsite.com/07b/ao348.htm

This week was very interesting. My group and I saw an episode of the outer limits. It was called "The Sixth Finger. I don't know if I would want to be that smart. The guy had a huge head, that was how much he was smart. I don't judge people of how they look, but he didn't look so healthy.
We also read the ending of our short story Jefty is five. That was a good story for the mutant child part of our research. There was this boy that had a friend that was very small for his age. He always looks five years old. It was sad how he died at the end. His mother drowned him a bathtub after he got better from a sickness from being in the cold to long. He has the immune of a five year old too. We figured out all of the artifacts that we are going to do. I have to do the obituary for Jeffty. I think that it is going to be experimental, becasue I never mad an obituray for anyone. I did learn a lot about how people treat people different, because the look different. http://www.theregister.co.uk/2012/08/23/older_dads_equals_mutant_kids_says_iceland_study/ I learned a lot about mutant children and mad scientists this week. We watched a video that had a mutant child in and I thought he was evil. He made people be or do whatever he wanted them to be or do. I also picked the group project theme to be mutant children and mad scientists. We are going to watch episodes of Outer Limits to learn more about the subject. I have never watched them, so this all new to me. I like the way we had to pick different people to be in our group. I also learned that people have some interesting questions about their topic. We are asking why does people have such a big interest in mutant children and mad scientists.
I have also started a new book called Among Others and I like it so far. This older lady is telling a story about her past in a boarding school, and there were magical things that live there and people have magic powers, I think. This book seems very interesting. http://www.lifenews.com/2015/04/24/mad-scientists-in-china-attempt-to-create-genetically-modified-babies-it-didnt-go-well/ I learned that there are actually real life stories of time travel. On Youtube there was a documentary about the stories that actually happened. I also loved the way that it explained the people that were involved with the time traveling. They didn't call them crazy and didn't have their opinions mixed in there. We also read a short story and we were confused, because they didn't say anything about time travel until the end. It was a good story, when we finally got what it was saying. I also read more of my book for independent reading. It is getting interesting. Mia has friend in her new area of the ship and she went outside of it and had a bad time, because of the gravity making her sick. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BWDAwWC39bA
I learned a lot about time travel this week... I love watching the movie, because I love watching movie, but also because it had a great plot, and ending. It made you think what would happen next. I also started to read the book and it is good so far. I didn't read much yet. also learned more about different aliens out there... These ones ate people and that was surprising to me, because I didn't think that the alien was mean. I thought it was very nice to the people, because they were helping with the economy and global economic problems. Science fiction is all of the aliens and time travel.. They are things that have been noted, but not quite proven possible yet. I really like this class so far, because we don't always go over the facts. This is post to be this or that. You can believe whatever you want to.
http://www.space.com/21675-time-travel.html I learned a lot this week. There are so many different things that you can do in science fiction. So many different subjects you can take on. We learned a lot about how the economy can make a difference in the future. I always think about my future. Who is going to be in it, how I'm going to live it, and so on. Technology is also a big thing in all of our futures.
I also learned that we all have our opinions about the world of science fiction. Some like life on other planets others like the idea of time travel, and so on, and so forth. We are doing a project with groups, and I like working with other people on projects. http://www.creator7.eu/sub-projects-2/silver-economy/ I am very excited about this class, because I watch a lot of movies and television show that are science fiction. I also love reading and I am reading this book called "Rite of Passage". This book is good so far, even though I only read about eight pages.
So far the book is about a girl that is on a ship and they only call it Ship. She played a soccer game and she hated the girls that played with her but she had one friend there. Earth was destroyed from wars 50 years ago. |
